Eid-el-Maulud: Tinubu Calls for Prayers, Unity and Renewed Commitment to Prophet Muhammad’s Teachings
President Bola Tinubu has felicitated Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, urging them to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President urged Muslims to use the celebration as an opportunity for spiritual reflection, prayers and renewed commitment to the virtues exemplified by the Prophet.
Tinubu identified devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility, and selflessness as enduring values Nigerians could draw from the life of Prophet Muhammad.
He also urged Islamic and other religious leaders to use the occasion to pray for the peace and progress of Nigeria while encouraging their followers to translate the Prophet’s teachings into positive actions that would strengthen the nation.
The President called on Muslims to demonstrate the spirit of compassion associated with the Maulud celebration by extending kindness and support to the poor, vulnerable, and less privileged in society.
Tinubu further appealed for prayers against insecurity and other challenges confronting the country, expressing optimism that Nigeria would continue to make progress towards greater peace, stability, and prosperity.
He wished Muslims across the country a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Eid-el-Maulud celebration.
