Rousing Welcome for Emenike as Apapa ANLCA Hosts National President
The National President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Mr. Emenike Nwokeoji was given a rousing welcome on Wednesday, 10 June, 2026 when the Apapa chapter hosted him at its newly acquired strategically located secretariat with the state of the art equipment in the premises of popular Nnewi building in Apapa, Lagos.
Both national and chapter executive members including women group of the association were on hand to give him and his team a befitting welcome.
He was received by the Executive Chairman, Apapa ANLCA chapter, Chief Emeka Chukwumalu, and his executive, along with other elders of the association.
Welcoming the National President, the Chairman stressed that the visit of the National President would serve as a moral booster to the executive and members of the association in the chapter.
Nwokeoji appreciated the rousing welcome, even as he apologized for getting there behind schedule. The National President, his team and the host chapter later visited the Apapa Command of Nigeria Customs Service.
Speaking at the Apapa Customs headquarters, the National President commended the command led by Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba for its smooth operation, efficiency and improved performance. He lauded the good working relationship existing between the association’s members and the Command.
He assured the Controller that ANLCA members will continue to support his administration by working according to the rules for the overall good of the port system.
Nwokeoji also remarked that the ANLCA has been following the achievements of the command and commended Comptroller Oshoba for his effectiveness, and success.
Responding, the Controller welcome the National President and his team to the command, and assured that the command is always ready to listen to freight forwarders on any issue.
The Controller commended the leadership of the association for being proactive and for its cooperation.
Speaking at the chapter secretariat, after the National President returned from the courtesy visit to Customs Command, a former Chairman of the chapter and former Western Zone Coordinator who is regarded as the pillar of the Apapa chapter, Chief (Sir) John Ofobike, commended the National President for the visit. He called on the executive and members to close ranks and work together as a team for the collective good of the association.
Noting that elections had come and gone, and winners had emerged, Ofobike said that the chapter in the premier command needs the support of all and sundry to be able to succeed, warning that elections that had gone should not be allowed to cause friction in the association.
Former Acting President of the association, Chief Pius Ejibunu appreciated the National President for his timely visit but expresses reservation about the sudden change of programs line up for the visit. He said that chapter should be informed on time next time the programs are to be altered.
The maiden visit of Nwokeoji to the chapter was witnessed by a mammoth crowd of national officers, chapter executives, and members of the great association.
