6th International Rating Webinar to Chart Africa’s Path to Investment-Grade Status
As anticipation builds for the 6th Edition of the International Rating Webinar, attention is increasingly focused on discussions aimed at mapping Africa’s journey toward achieving investment-grade sovereign credit ratings.
Themed “Sovereign Credit Rating: Africa’s Roadmap to Investment-Grade Status,” this year’s webinar will explore the policy frameworks, economic reforms, and strategic measures required to strengthen Africa’s creditworthiness and attract sustainable investment.
The event comes on the heels of Nigeria’s recent sovereign credit rating upgrade from B- to B, a development widely viewed as a positive signal to international investors and a reflection of growing confidence in the country’s ongoing economic reforms.
However, experts note that attaining full investment-grade status will require sustained commitment to sound fiscal management, economic stability, and institutional reforms across the continent.
The webinar will convene policymakers, development finance institutions, capital market operators, corporate leaders, and other key stakeholders to examine the practical steps needed to enhance sovereign credibility and boost investor confidence in African economies.
Scheduled for October 8, 2026, the virtual event will hold from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (WAT).
A major highlight of the programme will be the keynote presentation titled “Achieving Investment-Grade Rating by 2030: The Roadmap for Nigeria,” which is expected to provide valuable insights and actionable strategies for governments, regulators, and private-sector stakeholders.
According to the organisers, DataPro, the webinar will serve as a platform for robust engagement on the future of Africa’s economic and financial landscape. The organisation also disclosed that the lineup of speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.
Interested participants are encouraged to register and join the conversation through the designated registration channels, as preparations intensify for what promises to be a landmark discussion on Africa’s investment and credit-rating future.
