DataPro Urges Early Registration as October 8 Rating Webinar Draws Near

DataPro has called on investors, policymakers, financial market operators and other stakeholders to register early for its sixth International Rating Webinar scheduled for October 8.

The organisers said registration is currently open, but available slots are limited, urging prospective participants to secure their places ahead of the virtual event.

The webinar, according to DataPro, is expected to bring together leading voices in sovereign credit ratings, public finance, macroeconomics and institutional governance to examine Africa’s pathway to investment-grade status.

DataPro said participants will have the opportunity to gain insights into the forces shaping Africa’s credit outlook and engage with specialists on debt sustainability, structural reforms and access to global capital markets.

The organisation therefore encouraged interested stakeholders to register now and secure their participation in the sixth International Rating Webinar.

The virtual event will focus on the theme, “Sovereign Credit Rating: Africa’s Roadmap to Investment Grade Status.”

The webinar comes amid growing attention to sovereign credit ratings, structural economic reforms and the ability of African economies to access international capital markets on more favourable terms.

DataPro says the event will provide participants with insights into debt sustainability, policy reforms, institutional governance, macroeconomic stability and the architecture of global credit ratings.

The panel will feature Executive Director of Risk Management at the Ministry of Finance Incorporated, Oluwakemi Babalogbon; Lead Expert on Credit Rating Agencies at the African Peer Review Mechanism, Dr. Misheck Mutize; and Founder of the Credit Rating Research Initiative, Dr. Daniel Cash.

Others are Professor of Political Economy at the University of Bern, Professor Kai Gehring, and Head of Macroeconomics and Public Finance Research at RWI-Essen, Professor Dr. Torsten Schmidt.

DataPro says the webinar will equip investors, policymakers and financial market operators with a deeper understanding of the factors shaping sovereign credit ratings and Africa’s prospects of achieving investment-grade status.

The discussions will also examine how structural reforms, sound public finance management and stronger institutions can improve sovereign creditworthiness and strengthen Africa’s position in the global capital market.
