DataPro Opens Registration for Compliance Training, Targets Proliferation Financing
DataPro Limited has announced plans to equip financial institutions and Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs) with the knowledge and skills required to address emerging regulatory challenges in countering proliferation financing and complying with Targeted Financial Sanctions.
The initiative is part of the company’s October 2026 Open-House Training on Countering Proliferation Financing, scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, and Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
The two-day capacity-building programme will be conducted virtually via Zoom from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily.
The training comes amid increasing regulatory scrutiny of financial institutions and DNFBPs over compliance with international standards on countering proliferation financing, particularly deficiencies identified in recent mutual evaluation reports by the Inter-Governmental Action Group Against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA).
According to DataPro, the programme is designed to provide participants with practical knowledge and operational procedures for meeting regulatory and statutory obligations, particularly in risk assessment, customer due diligence and reporting.
The training will also help financial institutions and DNFBPs strengthen their compliance frameworks, while equipping employees and directors with the necessary skills to perform their regulatory responsibilities effectively.
Other objectives include improving participants’ understanding of customer due diligence procedures relating to proliferation financing, as well as exposing them to effective risk management, transaction monitoring and reporting practices.
The course curriculum is divided into five modules covering the conceptual framework for countering proliferation financing; internal policies, programmes, processes and procedures; proliferation financing risk assessment; customer due diligence and transaction monitoring; and the applicable reporting framework.
DataPro said participants would acquire practical customer due diligence and risk assessment procedures to strengthen their institutions’ compliance capabilities and align their operations with Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards.
The training fee is N100,000 per participant, exclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT), while discounted rates are available for group registrations.
Interested institutions have been advised to complete their nominations and secure participation ahead of the programme, as available slots are limited.
