Tinubu Receives NIMASA DG at Aso Rock, Reaffirms Commitment to Maritime Sector
The Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, was received by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House, Abuja on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Dr. Mobereola briefed the President on NIMASA’s achievements over the past two years, as well as the challenges facing the maritime industry.
In response, President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s maritime sector. He emphasized that the establishment of the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy was a deliberate move to ensure the industry contributes more significantly to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Commending NIMASA for its progress, the President urged Dr. Mobereola and his team to intensify efforts, stressing that the maritime sector holds vast potential for economic growth, job creation, and improved safety standards.
The meeting underscores the Federal Government’s determination to harness the opportunities of the blue economy as a driver of national development.
