Osun 2026: Oyebamiji Poised for Victory as APC Campaign Council Takes Off

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2026 Osun State election, Asiwaju Murinudeen Oyebamiji, has expressed confidence in the party’s chances of winning the August 15 governorship poll, declaring that victory is now within reach following the inauguration of the APC National Campaign Council.

Oyebamiji, who spoke shortly after the inauguration ceremony in Abuja, said the composition of the campaign council, which features prominent party leaders, demonstrated the APC’s commitment to reclaiming Osun State and returning what he described as progressive governance to the people.

The APC candidate appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), and members of the National Campaign Council for their support and confidence in his candidacy and the party’s Prosperity Agenda.

He said the backing from the party leadership had further strengthened the campaign’s determination to deepen grassroots mobilisation and secure victory at the polls.

“The inauguration of the National Campaign Council goes beyond a political event. It is a clear demonstration that our party is united, prepared and fully committed to winning the governorship election. Victory is within reach, and we will continue to campaign with humility, respect and adherence to democratic values,” Oyebamiji said.

The APC flagbearer noted that his campaign had, in recent months, engaged with various communities across Osun State, holding consultations with traditional rulers, youths, women, artisans, professionals, students, market leaders, religious groups and other stakeholders.

According to him, the engagements revealed a strong desire among residents for accountable leadership, economic transformation and governance that places the welfare of the people at the centre.

Oyebamiji pledged that his campaign would remain focused on key issues, including job creation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, inclusive growth and improved public service delivery.

He described the Prosperity Agenda as a comprehensive blueprint designed to address the challenges facing the state and create opportunities for all residents.

The APC candidate also praised party leaders, campaign officials, volunteers and grassroots supporters for their dedication, saying their commitment would play a crucial role in achieving electoral success.

Oyebamiji expressed confidence that the APC would triumph in the August 15 election, promising to provide purposeful leadership that would drive economic development and improve the standard of living of Osun residents.

The inauguration of the campaign council signals the commencement of a broader mobilisation drive by the APC as the party intensifies preparations to challenge the incumbent administration in the forthcoming governorship election.

The August 15 poll is expected to be highly competitive, with major political parties increasing consultations, stakeholder engagements and grassroots campaigns ahead of what is projected to be a significant electoral contest in the South-West.
