Nigeria Police Appoints New Force PRO
The Nigeria Police Force has announced the appointment of CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), succeeding DCP Anthony Okon Placid.
The appointment, made public on 19 June 2026 by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, marks the third change in the role within nine months. CSP Benjamin Hundeyin held the position until September 2025, followed by DCP Placid in March 2026.
Police authorities described Iniedu as a versatile officer with extensive experience in public communication, intelligence operations, police administration, accountability initiatives, and frontline policing. The IGP expressed confidence that his expertise will enhance the Force’s public engagement strategy and reinforce ongoing reforms aimed at improving transparency and public trust.
