Osun 2026: Adeleke Unfazed by Opposition Backing, Says ‘I Am a Bulldozer’
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has expressed confidence in his ability to win the forthcoming governorship election, saying he is not intimidated by the number of governors backing the opposition party.
Adeleke made the statement in a post on his official social media page, describing himself as a “bulldozer” and insisting that the support of 34 governors for the opposition would not determine the outcome of the election.
“I am not worried that I am contesting against a party that has 34 governors, I am a bulldozer,” the governor wrote.
According to Adeleke, the governors supporting the opposition candidate would not be able to cast their ballots in Osun, arguing that their role would be limited to campaigning and supporting their party.
He said, “If they like, they should bring all their governors, they are all my friends. They are not the ones to come and vote here, they can only support their party.”
The governor also expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his intervention following the recent freezing of the Osun State Government’s account by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
“I appreciate Mr. President’s call during the recent EFCC freeze order on the state government’s account,” Adeleke said.
He further disclosed that President Tinubu had assured him that the Osun governorship election would be conducted freely and fairly
“I was promised a free and fair election by President Tinubu,” Adeleke added.
