10 Days to Go: Africa’s Investment-Grade Ambition Takes Centre Stage at DataPro Webinar
Africa’s drive to achieve investment-grade sovereign credit ratings and attract long-term global capital will come under scrutiny as financial leaders, economists and policy experts converge virtually for DataPro’s 6th International Rating Webinar on October 8, 2026.
The webinar, scheduled to focus on “Sovereign Credit Rating: Africa’s Roadmap to Investment-Grade Status,” will examine the reforms, fiscal policies and institutional measures required to strengthen the continent’s creditworthiness and improve its access to international capital.
With only 10 days to the event, DataPro said the virtual conference would provide a platform for stakeholders to examine how African economies can build stronger sovereign credit profiles, improve investor confidence and position themselves for sustainable economic growth.
The keynote address will be delivered by the Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, CFA, who is expected to outline Nigeria’s roadmap towards achieving an investment-grade credit rating by 2030.
The webinar with a theme “Sovereign Credit Rating Africa’s Roadmap to Investment Grade Status” will also examine critical issues including fiscal discipline, debt sustainability, public-sector reforms and the institutional changes required to improve sovereign credit ratings.
According to the organisers, discussions will further focus on strategies for mobilising global capital, with an international panel of experts expected to provide perspectives on strengthening investor confidence and attracting long-term institutional investment into African economies.
Among the experts listed to participate are Dr. Misheck Mutize, Dr. Daniel Cash, Oluwakemi Babalogbon, Prof. Kai Gehring and Prof. Dr. Torsten Schmidt.
The organisers said the webinar is designed to provide policymakers, financial institutions, investors, economists, business leaders and other stakeholders with insights into the relationship between sovereign credit ratings, economic reforms and access to international capital.
Participation in the webinar is free, although registration is required, with the organisers urging interested participants to secure their places ahead of the October 8 event.
The conference comes at a time when African economies are seeking to strengthen their fiscal positions, improve debt sustainability, and attract increased foreign and domestic investment to finance development.
DataPro said the webinar would therefore provide an important platform for stakeholders to examine practical steps towards building stronger credit profiles and positioning African economies for investment-grade status.
