Inter-Command Games: Ogun 1 Customs Thrash Seme Command 4–0
Ogun 1 Command of the Nigeria Customs Service delivered a commanding performance, defeating Seme Command 4–0 in a clash that lived up to its billing as “elephants meeting elephants” on Wednesday evening at Customs Training School, Ikeja.
The first half was evenly contested, with Seme Command dictating much of the tempo but failing to convert their dominance into goals. The breakthrough came after halftime, following a morale-boosting pep talk from Acting Customs Area Controller of Ogun 1 Command, DC Olukayode Afeni. His presence galvanized the team, sparking a remarkable turnaround.
Less than ten minutes into the second half, Ogun 1 opened the scoring. They quickly doubled their lead, and when the referee awarded a penalty against Seme, Ogun 1 calmly converted to make it three. The final blow came from a long-range grounder that caught the Seme goalkeeper off guard, sealing a comprehensive 4–0 victory.
Earlier in the day, Murtala Muhammed International Airport Command (MMIAC) defeated Ogun II Command 2–0. MMIAC controlled the match from start to finish, leaving no doubt about their superiority.
