INEC Presents Return Certificates to Adeleke, Adewusi After Osun Governorship Victory

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented Certificates of Return to Osun State Governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke, and his deputy, Kola Adewusi, following their victory in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

The certificates were presented on Wednesday at the INEC State Headquarters in Osogbo by the National Commissioner supervising Osun State, Professor Yinka Ajayi.

The presentation formally affirmed Adeleke and Adewusi as the Governor-elect and Deputy Governor-elect respectively, setting the stage for their inauguration for another term in office.

The event was witnessed by representatives of political parties, security agencies, civil society organisations, election observers and members of the media.

With the presentation of the Certificates of Return, INEC formally concluded a key stage of the electoral process following the successful conduct of the governorship election across the state.
