Adeleke Confident of Victory Ahead of Osun Governorship Election

With the August 15 Osun State governorship election fast approaching, incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke has expressed strong confidence in his chances of victory.

Speaking to a large crowd of supporters in Osogbo on Monday, Adeleke described himself as a “performer” and “political change agent,” assuring that he would triumph if the election is conducted freely and fairly. “With God on my side, I am confident of victory. If this election is free and fair, I will win,” he declared.

The governor also raised concerns over alleged attacks on members of the Accord Party, appealing directly to President Bola Tinubu to ensure that security agencies act professionally and impartially. “Mr President, something is happening in Osun that you need to know. Our people are being killed and, as our father, we are appealing to you. We will not accept any attempt to rig this election,” Adeleke said.

He urged Osun residents—both indigenes and non-indigenes—to turn out in large numbers on election day to vote for him, emphasizing that his administration has been delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
